Final Project

The metaphor for the  dream that me and Mikki picked was  "How would you spend your time if you knew it was limited?"

The story describes how people are constantly worried about time and focusing on their shadows. In the end, these people feel empty about how they spent their lives.

So we needed to come with a composition way to show it so  we decided to paint on black paper instead of brown paper. The shades of blue, turquoise, gray, and peach that go across the painting are to show from birth to death. On top of the painting, we went with five life-sized silhouettes, from childhood to old age to show what hides behind the shadows for the viewer.

Final Project

So this project we have two weeks to complete, we had to pick a partner so I and Mikki decided to work together to create a piece of artwork that questions "How would you live your life if you could track how much time you had left on Earth?"

Einsteins Dreams

Einstein's Dreams are between April 14 and June 28, 1905, as he develops his theory of time as part of his theory of relativity. Each dream envisions a different world, with time behaving in a different way. The stories explore the relationships between people and time, a basic part of the human condition. The Dream I most enjoyed was "20 May 1905  People have no memories" 'A world without memory is a world of the present'" In this dream is that people couldn't remember anything of there past. Each person to order to know  their self they had to carry an own Book of Life, which is filled with the history of their life's. Without the  Book of Life, a person is a snapshot or image or ghost.

Another one I enjoyed was  "3 June People Live just one day, but that one day may be an eternity"  In this world, no one lives to witness the change of the seasons.  A person that was born in  December lives his life cold. A person that lives his life over the summer never sees snow and lives there life warm.

Today project was to draw the structure of your object. My object is the  Moon cactus, I mostly study the inside of it and did some research about it. We were told to look for other structure that looks a lot like, I went with the Pineapple because the inside looks the  same as the inside of the  Moon Cactus.

Nature Drawing

Over the weekend we had to draw things from nature that have structure. I drew a pine cone, pine needles, leaves, mushrooms, cactus, succulents, and tree nuts.

Pine Cone- They are large woody cones that are a key element for pine trees. Both female and male cones appear on a tree. The female cones produce seeds, while the man cones drop pollen. The pollen is carried by gravity or the wind to the female cones, fertilizing the seeds.

Pines needles- Pine trees produce long, narrow needles 1 to 11 inches long. Pine needles range from blue to dark green and are bundled into groups of two, three, or five needles. The needles connect near the point where they attach to the branch. When needles are in groups of three, they originate from ponderosa pines.

Cactus generally live in dry places such as deserts.  There are 1,500 to 1,800 species of cacti. Cacti come in all shapes and sizes from round and short through to thin and tall. The spines of a cactus are highly modified versions of plant leaves, there are very few cacti species with true plant leaves.

The project for today was to sketch out five different objects. The objects should interact with the human body. I sketched out three things people get addicted too. Addiction can turn a persons life into a complete mess. There are many things that one can become addicted to, like smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee, and even money.  Then I sketched out two things that influence your life like music  and skateboarding. The reason why I went with music and skateboarding because music takes your mind off life, no matter what’s going on in your head and you capture words, tune, beat, and flow of the song you’re listening to. Same as skateboarding because when I skateboard I feel free.
